what to expect from a family photo session
I work with you to create the best photography experience for your individual family.
PLANNING MEETING
We’ll meet at my studio in West Linn to plan your photoshoot. It’s important for me to understand what you are looking for to give you the best experience possible. I like to get to know your family - the names and ages of everyone, what type of hobbies you enjoy, how you plan to use the photos. We’ll discuss location (typically a local park, downtown, or another place special to you), your timeframe, and what to wear. This allows us to create a custom-designed session just for you.
PHOTO SESSION
A typical family photo session will last 1 hour. We move around our location a bit to get different backgrounds, different lighting, and different feels. In addition to shots of the whole family, I also like to get the parents together, the siblings together, and each sibling individually. Many people will include grandparents or aunts/uncles and cousins. A small child may want to have a favorite stuffed animal or toy to help get smiles. If you have a family pet, feel free to bring them as well.
ONLINE GALLERY
About 10 days after the photoshoot, you will receive a link to your Online Gallery. This will have approximately 75-100 of the best photos from our session. It may be more or less depending on the length of the photo session, but they will be a great selection from each of your poses. You spend the time you need from the comfort of your own home and select your Favorites. You can even share the gallery with family or friends to get their favorites and input as well. Once you narrow them down, we schedule a time for you to come into my studio to finalize your selection.
ORDERING PROCESS
Now comes the fun part! Come into my studio and you can see your photos in detail on my large computer screen. We can play around with cropping, and talk about different options and packages. I’m happy to offer suggestions and help answer any questions I can. There are a number of Photo Collections to choose from, and you are always able to add on a la cart.

The Sitting Fee for a Family Session is $150 and includes the following:
Consultation meeting to design your photoshoot
One-hour of photography at a location of your choice (ex. a local park)
Post-production work (editing/photoshop)
Link to your online Gallery to choose your favorite photos
Print Photo Collections start at $525
Digital Collections start at $400 for 10 digital photos with copyright release
Digital copies are complimentary with a minimum product purchase of $800
Coffee Table books start at $325
